A snapshot from a simulation of the airflow induced by hot (bottom) and cold (top) plates depicts an isothermal sheet of air (70% hot). The green and blue hues denote 10 and 20 times average kinetic energy destruction. The simulation employed a pseudospectral method on a 129 x 129 x 257 grid.
